The maker's mark
Anyone can call cotton "conscious." A place in the brand book means we checked the things a label actually has to prove.
The core range is natural fibre — organic cotton, linen, hemp, wool, silk, or Tencel — with the composition stated openly, not buried or blended down to a token percentage.
We look for verifiable marks — GOTS, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, Responsible Wool Standard — or full supply-chain traceability. A named certificate beats any adjective.
Brands leaning on unproven "carbon neutral" or "planet-friendly" claims without evidence don't make the book. We'd rather show you fewer, truer options.
Listings are re-checked as brands change their ranges. Always confirm a garment's fibre content and current certification on the product page before you buy — that's the habit this whole brand book is built to encourage.

Awareness that synthetic clothing sheds microplastics has climbed sharply — but the shopper who wants to act still hits a wall. Labels are unclear, "sustainable" means everything and nothing, and telling real natural fibre from a token blend takes work most people don't have time for.
Forestitch does that work once, so you don't have to repeat it. We read the composition, look for a named certification, and leave off the brands that lean on slogans. What's left is a brand book you can trust to point at the real thing.
